ComicConnect’s first Mega Monthly Auction of 2023 featured comics, magazines, toys, and more. The auction, which closed on January 31 through February 2, was led by the high grade copy of Incredible Hulk #181 CGC 9.8. The origin and first full appearance of Wolverine garnered 40 bids before selling for $66,000.

“Last week, we sold thousands of classic comic books and fan-favorite keys, and it wouldn’t be possible without buyers and consignors like all of you. Thank you for helping ComicConnect start off the new year with a bang and for continuing to support this exciting market,” ComicConnect President Vincent Zurzolo said.

The next highest sale was for Batman #5 PGX 4.0 that sold for $1,870, Fantastic Four Annual #1 CGC 8.0 realized $1,851, and Ultimate Fallout #4 CGC 9.8 hit $1,600. Other noteworthy sales included Green Lantern #1 CGC 3.5 for $1,322 and Showcase #22 CGC .5 sold for $1,159.

“With the recent news that the DCU will be bringing Hal Jordan back to live-action, these two keys have incredible potential for future sales,” Zurzolo added.

ComicConnect’s next sale, Event Auction #53, will open for bidding on February 20, 2023.
