A copy of Tales from the Crypt, a Marvel Apes illustration, and a copy of JoyStik #2 are featured in Heritage’s weekly auctions. The Comic Books Select Auction ends on Sunday through Tuesday, October 1-3, 2023, the Video Games Mini-Boss Auction concludes on Tuesday, October 3, and the Comic Art & Animation Auction closes on Wednesday, October 4.

In time for Halloween season, Heritage is offering Tales from the Crypt #40 GD/VG, one of the most infamous pre-Code books with a ghoulish cover that landed the book in the Senate hearings. The Avengers #221 CGC 9.6 showcases Luke Cage, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Dazzler, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Hulk, She-Hulk, and others on the cover.

The original art auction is led by Neal Adams’ Sauron sketch, featuring a portrait of the X-Men supervillain from the Savage Land. Barry Kitson’s Marvel Apes illustration reimagines Marvel characters as Apes, including the Ape-Vengers, Spider-Monkey, the X-Apes, Black Widorangutan, and others.

In the video game auction, Heritage has a copy of JoyStik Vol. 1 #2, which informed gamers about second generation consoles and titles. Another interesting piece is the scarce, sealed Super Nintendo controller VGA 85+ with the added buttons and round corners to make it more comfortable to hold.
