Julien’s Auctions and Turner Classic Movies are hosting a Hollywood Legends Auction on December 14-17, 2023. It will feature two sessions of contemporary Hollywood memorabilia, titled Robots, Wizards, Heroes & Aliens, which will be held on December 14-15.

The sale will offer props, costumes, models, memorabilia, and more from science fiction, fantasy, action, and superhero movies and shows that span the 1950s to more recent blockbusters. It will begin with the “100 Years of Warner Bros.” with artifacts, ephemera, and more.

Top highlights are led by an original hero mechanical animatronic E.T. head created by Carlo Rambaldi from E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial; a Model B-9 robot from Lost in Space, which is one of only two full-scale figures made during the show; and an Albus Dumbledore (Richard Harris) original, screen-matched, special effects headmaster’s robe from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Other top lots are a newly restored Batman costume worn by Michael Keaton in Batman Returns; a pair of circa 1740s hero, screen-matched, non-operational flintlock dueling pistols used by Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides; and the original “Mother” Nostromo computer console with seat designed by Ron Cobb from Alien.

Julien’s will auction several pieces from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They have three Captain America shields used by Chris Evans – the hero shield and USO shield from Captain America: The First Avenger, and a SPFX master shield. An Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) Mark II helmet from Iron Man, an Iron Man Mark 46 helmet from Captain America: Civil War, and a War Machine (Don Cheadle) Mark II helmet from Avengers: Age of Ultron are offered.

Star Wars will be represented by Darth Maul’s (Ray Park) dueling double-bladed lightsaber, Obi-Wan Kenobi’s (Ewan McGregor) fighting lightsaber, and Qui-Gon Jinn’s (Liam Neeson) fighting lightsaber from The Phantom Menace. Science fiction items also include a Twiki costume from Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, Ned Land’s (Kirk Douglas) ensemble from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, and Dr. Morbius’ (Walter Pidgeon) costume from Forbidden Planet.

More superhero and comic-based lots include a Kryptonite spear prop from Batman v. Superman, Wolverine’s hero claws from Logan, and Mr. Freeze (Arnold Schwarzenegger) costume and freeze ray gun from Batman & Robin.

Items from beloved 1980s movies and shows include Freddy Kruger’s (Robert Englund) glove, hat, and shoes from A Nightmare on Elm Street, John McClaine’s (Bruce Willis) stunt machine gun prop from Die Hard, Marty McFly’s (Michael J. Fox) Mattel hoverboard and Griff Tannen’s (Thomas Wilson) P.I.T. Bull hoverboard from Back to the Future Part II, Slimer maquettes from Ghostbusters II, and Thomas Magnum’s (Tom Selleck) sunglasses from Magnum P.I.
