A low grade copy of Spider-Man’s first appearance, a Thor painting by Esad Ribic, and a rare copy of Obitus for SNES are among the highlights in Heritage’s weekly auctions. The Comic Books Select Auction ends on Sunday through Tuesday, February 11-13, 2024, the Video Games Mini-Boss Auction concludes on Tuesday, February 13, and the Comic Art & Animation Auction closes on Wednesday, February 14.

The comic auction is led by Shock SuspenStories #1 CGC 6.5 with Al Feldstein’s electrocution cover, which was the last horror title to debut in EC’s “New Trend.” Heritage is also offering a major key with Amazing Fantasy #15 CGC 1.8, featuring the debut of Spider-Man.

In the original art auction, Heritage has a Thor painting by Esad Ribic, who is considered the artist that helped define the character for 21st century readers. John Buscema and Tony DeZuniga’s The Savage Sword of Conan #40 story page 15 comes from the comic adaptation of the novel, Conan the Buccaneer.

The video game auction features Claymates WATA 8.5 A sealed for SNES, which is an offshoot of the Clay Fighter series and rarely found sealed. The fantasy style RPG Obitus WATA 9.4 A sealed for SNES is being offered for the first time and is the only copy in Wata’s December 2023 population report.
