Heritage’s weekly auctions offer a high grade copy of Donkey Kong Junior, Harlequin’s first appearance, and two pages with Al Milgrom art. The Comic Books Select Auction ends on Sunday through Tuesday, April 28-30, 2024, the Video Games Mini-Boss Auction closes Tuesday, April 30, and the Comic Art & Animation Auction concludes on Wednesday, May 1.

The video game auction is led by Donkey Kong Junior WATA 9.4 A++ sealed for Atari 2600, featuring Junior trying to rescue Papa Donkey Kong who was captured by Mario. The Adventures of Bayou Billy WATA 9.6 A sealed for NES offers a blend of gameplay styles including beat’em up, light gun shooting, and racing.

The comic book auction goes back to the Golden Age with All-American Comics #89 FN+ with the origin and first appearance of Harlequin, the jester-themed character who predates Harley Quinn by nearly 50 years. X-Men #16 CGC 5.0 houses the second appearance by the ultimate Sentinel, Master Mold, and a cover by Jack Kirby.

The original art auction features Larry Stroman and Al Milgrom’s X-Factor #78 story page 3 with the complete X-Factor team of Havok, Polaris, Strong Guy, Madrox the Multiple Man, Wolfsbane, and Quicksilver. Ron Frenz and Al Milgrom’s Thunderstrike #23 splash page 3 is a full-page opening splash of the extreme version of Thor, Asgardian-powered human Eric Masterson.
