A high grade copy of Mia Hamm 64 Soccer, Mystique’s debut, and a Neal Adams portrait of Black Canary are featured in Heritage’s weekly auctions. The Comic Books Select Auction closes on Sunday through Tuesday, May 19-21, 2024, Video Games Mini-Boss Auction ends Tuesday, May 21, and the Comic Art & Animation Auction concludes on Wednesday, May 22.

The video game auction kicks off with Mia Hamm 64 Soccer WATA 9.6 A+ sealed for N64, which was released a year after Hamm and the US Women’s National Soccer Team won the FIFA World Cup at the Rose Bowl. The copy of Ultimate 8 Ball WATA 9.8 A+ sealed (The Dreamer Collection) for PlayStation is the highest graded copy in the Wata population report.

The comic auction is led by Green Lantern #1 CGC 0.5, which launched the new superhero title, and includes bios and photos of comic greats Bill Finger and Martin Nodell. On the Marvel side, is Ms. Marvel #18 CBCS 9.8 with the first full appearance of shapeshifting mutant villain and sometime hero Mystique.

In the original art auction, Heritage has a Neal Adams illustration of Black Canary in a full body portrait. John Buscema and Tom Palmer’s The Avengers #282 story page 12 shows Namor being captured by Neptune, his escape, and helping to free the Avengers.
