ComicConnect is off to California for San Diego Comic-Con while the July 2024 Mega Monthly Auction opens for bidding, featuring rarities and favorites from across the comic ages.

Golden Age greats include Green Lantern #4 and #14, horror and sci-fi are represented by Weird Science #10 6.0 and Out of the Shadows #6 6.5, plus their are classic covers including Planet Comics #51 5.5, Jack Kirby and Joe Simon’s work on Tales of the Unexpected #18 6.0, and Allen Anderson’s painting for Amazing Adventures #4 6.0. Alex Schomburg’s robotic wonder for Brick Bradford #6 and the jungle action of Jo-Jo Comics #12 9.0 are also offered.

Silver Age keys include the first African American comic book lead in Dell’s Lobo #1 6.5. The Teen Titans make their informal intro when Robin, Kid Flash, and Aqualad team-up in Brave and the Bold #54 6.5, and Guy Gardner’s first appearance in Green Lantern #59 6.5. Neal Adams brings Two-Face to the Silver Age in Batman #234 7.0 and Cerebro’s first use in X-Men #7 6.5. More high grade finds have the God of Thunder facing Dr. Doom in Thor #182 9.8, and the Black Panther’s origin in Avengers #87 9.4. 

Bronze Age highlights are X-Men #94 6.5, Ghost Rider #1 7.5, X-Men #101 9.0, and Tomb of Dracula #1 CGC 7.0 Signature Series Neal Adams. Modern Age keys Kick-Ass 3 #3 9.7 CGC Signature Series Chloe Grace Moretz and the first Venom in Amazing Spider-Man #300 9.8. Deadpool debuts in New Mutants #98 9.8, Cable makes his first appearance in New Mutants #87 9.8, and Miles Morales’ swings in for Ultimate Fallout #4 9.2.
