Highlights in Heritage’s weekly auctions include Blade’s first appearance in high grade, Irv Novick and Dick Giordano Detective Comics art, and a high grade copy of Blip #1 video game magazine. The Comic Books Auction closes on Sunday through Tuesday, August 4-6, 2024, the Video Games Mini-Boss Auction ends on Tuesday, August 6, and the Comic Art & Animation Auction wraps up on Wednesday, August 7.

Things are scary in the comic book auction with Tales from the Crypt #28 CGC 7.0, featuring a buried alive cover by Al Feldstein. The genre continues with Tomb of Dracula #10 CGC 9.4 showcasing Blade the Vampire Hunter’s debut.

The original art auction is led by Irv Novick and Dick Giordano’s Detective Comics #434 story page 8 with dramatic images of Batman taking on the ghostly apparition known as the Spook. Don Heck and Mike Esposito’s The Avengers #111 story page 14 features Thor, Black Panther, Black Widow, and Daredevil trying to stop Magneto from mind-controlling leaders of America’s atomic energy.

The video game auction offers the magazine Blip #1 CGC 9.2 with the first comic strip appearances by Mario and Donkey Kong, tips for beating games, a contest, and Little House on the Prairie star Matthew Laborteaux on the cover. The Game Boy Player VGA 75 sealed for GameCube is a device that allows players to use Game Boy cartridges on the GameCube system.
