ComicConnect is heading into the final week of Event Auction 59. It features over 2,800 comic books, plus over 250 pieces of original art, foreign comics, pulps, and other memorabilia.

EA59 contains rarities from the Ruben Blades Collection, with a Detective Comics run that includes Batman’s debut in Detective Comics #27. Wonder Woman’s cover debut in Sensation Comics #1 leads off a run for the title and Marvel Comics #1 features the birth of the Marvel Universe. There’s also Batman #1 (first Joker and Catwoman), Captain America Comics #1, and Daring Mystery Comics #1 9.2.

Top Silver Age lots include Fantastic Four #1 (first appearance of the team) and #5 (Dr. Doom’s debut), Amazing Fantasy #15 (first appearance of Spider-Man), Amazing Spider-Man #1, Incredible Hulk #1 (as the rising foreign market’s represented by the Israeli edition), and a CGC census-topping X-Men #50.

Highlights among the Bronze Age keys are Giant-Size X-Men #1 9.0, 1982’s Wolverine #1 9.9, Amazing Spider-Man #135 9.8 (Punisher’s second appearance), and Amazing Spider-Man #124 9.8 (Man-Wolf’s debut).

EA59’s original art covers the decades, starting with Golden Age great Mac Raboy’s preliminary cover art for Captain Marvel Jr. #31. Jack Kirby sends the God of Thunder time-traveling from the Silver Age in Journey Into Mystery #86, and brings his beloved machinery into the Bronze Age for the splash of Captain America #194. There’s another Bronze Age artifact with a signed Frank Miller page from Daredevil #172, as Klaus Janson inks Daredevil, the Kingpin, Bullseye, Vanessa Fisk, and Turk. There’s also a Travis Charest original of a modern Wolverine from WildC.A.T.S./X-Men: The Golden Age #1.
