ComicConnect is presenting their first look at Event Auction 60, in addition to the continuing previews for the Fall Mega Monthly Auction that begins Monday, October 28, 2024.

EA60 has a Golden Age greats including Batman #1, the scarce Detective Comics #1, and Captain Marvel’s debut in Whiz Comics. There’s also Superman’s third cover on Action Comics #10, and the birth of the Marvel Universe in Marvel Mystery Comics #2. Firsts from the Silver Age include Iron Man’s introduction in Tales of Suspense #39, Spider-Man’s debut in Amazing Fantasy #15, and team introductions in Avengers #1 and X-Men #1. Galactus has his first full appearance in Fantastic Four #49, while the Sinister Six get their start in Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1 9.0. 

The original art selection has Frank Miller’s shadow play from Sin City: The Big Fat Kill and Jim Aparo’s classic depiction of Mr. Freeze for the cover of Batman #308, alongside Jack Kirby’s sci-fi splash page from Kamandi #16. Wolverine claws his way in via wild pages from Rob Liefeld and Barry Windsor-Smith, plus the X-Man’s brutal first meeting with Deadpool in a double-page spread by Adam Kubert for Wolverine #88.
