After closing out 2024 with the record-setting success of Event Auction 60, ComicConnect kicks off 2025 with a first look at Event Auction 61, which begins on February 24, 2025.

Event Auction 61 already offers a collection of vintage comics, including high grade Batman classics such as Catwoman’s first costumed appearance in Batman #3, Penguin’s debut in Detective Comics #58, and Clock Maker’s debut and “death” in Batman #6. The Man of Steel also shines in Golden Age comics like Superman #3 8.5. Rare Alex Schomburg covers include Marvel Mystery #35, Captain America Comics #29, and Sub-Mariner Comics #8. There’s more WWII action with covers from Mystic Comics #9 8.5 and Weird Comics #16 8.5, while the Golden Age meets the Silver Age when the Sub-Mariner returns to battle surface-dwellers in a Fantastic Four #4 9.0.

The original art selections include John Romita’s title page for Fantastic Four #103, making a splash as the first non-Jack Kirby art to ever appear in the book. Wolverine claws his way in via an intense Barry Windsor-Smith page from the Weapon-X origin tale Marvel Comics Presents #84. Jim Lee provides a wild illustration of the Canadian mutant inked by Scott Williams and ranking as Lee’s largest Wolverine at 15” x 20”.

There’s also classic Lee art showcasing Mr. Majestic and more from his collaboration with Chris Claremont in WildC.A.T.s: Covert Action Teams #12. Alex Ross provides a frighteningly realistic look at a fallen Hulk off the cover of Immortal Hulk #45, and there’s a rare 1980 Russ Manning Star Wars Sunday comic strip with Darth Vader, squadrons of fighter fleets, and all six Star Wars leads in a single panel.
