The first round of the highly anticipated Jeff Jacob Collection is now being offered at Hake’s Auctions. Jacob’s collection represents the pinnacle of action figure, vehicle, playset, and related toy collecting from such series as Star Wars, G.I. Joe, Transformers, and more. Last week, Scoop covered some of the best Star Wars toys in the first auction, and now we turn our attention to the highly desirable toys from the other series in his collection.
Transformers lots are led by the series team leaders. Megatron Series 1 AFA 80 features the Decepticon Leader in the original window box with the registered trademark logo. The Optimus Prime Series 1 AFA 80+ with the Autobot Commander is also in the original window box with the registered logo. Both of these toys are among the most desirable Transformers Series 1 toys.
G.I. Joe toys in the auction are led by the Cobra Missile Command Headquarters Sears exclusive Series 1 playset AFA 75+ (only graded example). The set comes with three action figures on red blister cards with peach file cards on back.
The G.I. Joe Combat Jet Skystriker (XP-14F) Series 2 vehicle AFA 80+ comes in the first release box without a barcode. The Hovercraft (Killer W.H.A.L.E.) Series 3 vehicle AFA 75 has many great features, and is one of just 10 sealed examples graded by AFA.
Masters of the Universe lots are led by the He-Man Series 1 12-back AFA 80 which is noted on the card as “The Original” and it has no Mattel proof of purchase on the back. The Snake Mountain Series 3 playset AFA 80 is an impressive piece with the stronghold, trap door, evil tunnel, scaling ladder, bridge, and more.
ThunderCats is also represented in the auction with the Lion-O & Snarf Series 2 14-back AFA 80. It is the orange hair variety, which is scarcer than the red hair, and is one of five examples in the grade with none higher.
The ThunderCats Tygra Series 2 14-back AFA 80 is the Canadian issue with the “Old Tygra” variety, and is one of the four highest graded examples. The Pumyra Series 3 14-back AFA 80+ with battle-matic action and sling weapon is the only example at that grade with just one graded higher.
The auction also includes The Adventures of Indiana Jones in Raiders of the Lost Ark Indiana Jones Series 1 9-back AFA 85 figure and an Arabian Horse Series 2 AFA 80+. Several SilverHawks toys are in the auction, like the Quicksilver with Tally-Hawk Series 1 AFA 80 and the Copper Kidd with May-Day Series 1 AFA 75.
The Jeff Jacob Collection auction is open for bidding now through Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
