ComicConnect has closed their first bids of 2025 with lots of hot offerings in the Winter Mega Monthly Auction — even as Event Auction 61 gets ready to launch on Monday, February 24, 2025.
The bidding over the Winter Mega Monthly Auction included a record setting sale for Creepy #7 CGC 9.8 with Frank Frazetta’s classic vampire vs. werewolf cover that went for $977. Werewolf By Night #43 CGC 9.8 Signature Series from the Mike Ploog Collection pounced to four figures for the first time when it sold for $1,462. Sales also spiked for Batman joining Wildcat in Brave and the Bold #97 CGC 9.8 that realized $495.
A selection of Underground Comix offered a rare first printing of Zap Comix #1 CGC 6.5 reached $1,552, and Civil Rights activist Julian Bond’s rare Vietnam CGC 7.5 anti-war comic sold for an unprecedented $522.
Foreign book sales were led by Ghost Rider’s first appearance in Italy’s Marvel Spotlight #5 CGC 8.5, featuring a rare variant cover that also sports Daredevil, that roared to $1,705. A rare French-Canadian copy of the Punisher’s debut in Amazing Spider-Man #129 CGC 8.5 went for $805.
