Propstore is selling a selection of film-used Star Wars items in their upcoming Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction. The three-day event is scheduled for March 26-28, 2025.

Two lots expected to be big sellers are Luke Skywalker’s (Mark Hamill) Medal of Yavin from A New Hope and Chewbacca’s (Peter Mayhew) Bowcaster that was used in all three original trilogy films.

Luke’s screen-matched medal was presented to him by Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) during the final moments of the first film. The hero prop was worn by Hamill in the movie, and worn by Harrison Ford in behind the scenes photos. It is one of two medals believed to be made for the movie, and the first one offered in a public sale.

Chewie’s Bowcaster was created around a real Horton crossbow then modified to give it a futuristic, albeit well-worn appearance. After filming, some of its dressing components were removed, however those pieces have been restored to the Bowcaster’s appearance in Return of the Jedi. According to Propstore, it is believed to be the only Bowcaster used in the original trilogy.

“Propstore is thrilled to bring these incredible Star Wars props to auction and for fans to see them for the first time in many years,” Propstore COO Brandon Alinger said. “Principal character pieces from the original trilogy are extremely rare and highly sought after. Each of these treasures holds a special place in cinematic history, and we are excited to see them find new homes where they will be appreciated and preserved for years to come.”
