The Baltimore Comic-Con was held on September 8-10, 2023, returning to the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Maryland. The three-day convention keeps the focus on comics from the guest list to the exhibitors to the panels, which was once again on display at the 2023 edition of the show.

Matthew Lewis (Harry Potter), and Chris Sarandon and Ken Page (The Nightmare Before Christmas) were the media guests at this year’s show.

Comic-focused exhibitors and vendors included Cards, Comics, and Collectibles, who had a large display in the center of the show with rows of long boxes filled with Golden to Modern Age books. The Hero Initiative charity organization was selling books and accepting donations, and Third Eye Comics sold the latest comics and graphic novels. Additional comic vendors included Basement Comics, Bedrock City Comic Co., Dave & Adam’s Card World, Harley Yee Rare Comics, Heroes Aren’t Hard to Find, Highgradecomics.com, Reece’s Rare Comics, and Superworld Comics.

Geppi Family Enterprises was represented by Gemstone Publishing, Hake’s Auctions, and PreviewsWorld. Publishers Ahoy Comics, Insight Studios, Mad Cave Studios, Source Point Press, and TwoMorrows Publishing were at the show. Third party graders CBCS and CGC were there, as were auction houses ComicConnect/Metropolis Comics, ComicLink, Goldin Auctions, Heritage, and MyComicShop.

In addition to the comics, original art, and graphic novels, vendors sold a variety of related collectibles. There were lightsabers and prop weapons, t-shirts, jewelry, stuffed animals, DC and Marvel action figures, wrestling figures, comic character statues, and anime and manga memorabilia. One vendor had vending machines filled with pop culture toys, indie artists sold prints and posters, and genre fiction novelists offered superhero, sci-fi, fantasy, and horror books.

The Kids Love Comics area dedicated to programming for kids featured art lessons and contests, sketches and signings with comic creators, and kids could make their own superhero costumes.

Some of the creators participated in Q&A sessions and celebrations, including Grell, Chaykin, Johns, Rude, Waid, Bendis, Statin, Starlin, and more. The celebrity guests also engaged with fans in panels.

It was another successful Baltimore Comic-Con, bringing together creators, dealers, and fans for a weekend filled with comics!
