Monster-Mania Con held their final show of 2024 on November 9-10, at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA.

The guest list included Alec Baldwin (Beetlejuice), Eli Roth and Alex Armbruster (Thanksgiving), Tom Skerritt and Veronica Cartwright (Alien), Paul Reiser, Michael Biehn, Carrie Henn, and Carl Toop (Aliens), Liana Liberato (Totally Killer), Kathryn Newton (Lisa Frankenstein), Jason Patric (The Lost Boys), Shawnee Smith (Saw), Ti West (X), Grant Cramer, Suzanne Snyder, and John Allen Nelson (Killer Klowns from Outer Space), Danielle Harris (Halloween franchise), Edward Furlong (Terminator 2), and Jennifer Blanc-Biehn (Dark Angel).

They also hosted a Terrifier franchise reunion with writer-director Damien Leone, and stars David Howard Thornton, Samantha Scaffidi, Elliott Fullam, Amelie McLain, and Daniel Roebuck.

The Terrifier 3 group, Killer Klowns from Outer Space cast, guests from both Alien and Aliens, Shawnee Smith, Alec Baldwin, Eli Roth, and Danielle Harris did participated in panels. Monster-Mania also hosted a charity auction and costume contest.

Monster-Mania expanded this year by using another area of the convention center for the panels. The space where panels were held in the past was used for additional vendors and for professional photo ops. The area that used to handle photo ops became part of the celebrity signing area. It was a benefit all around as the larger celebrity and photo op areas gained more space for lines, and they were able to welcome more vendors.

The horror-themed vendors sold action figures, statues, masks, replica costumes, LEGOs, Funko Pops, and prop weapons. They had t-shirts, flannels, hoodies, hats, and other apparel, as well as wallets, purses, and crossbody bags. Some had books, magazines, DVDs, Blu-rays, VHS tapes, and vinyl. Several vendors sold their own creations including prints and posters, jewelry, ornaments, shadowboxes, dice holders, and more. Multiple authors, Zenescope Entertainment, and Troma Productions set up at the show.

Vendors were mixed on how well sales were for the weekend, with some reporting successes while others stated that they expected to have more sales based on the crowd size.

A tattoo alley was located in the center of the vendor area. It was a popular destination throughout the weekend with many attendees getting tattoos of the signatures they acquired at the show. Others got tattoos of their favorite horror characters and more.

Monster-Mania’s convention in Oaks has a different atmosphere than its other cons because it is held at a convention center. Their other shows are held in hotels, which offer out of towners the convenience of staying on-site for the whole weekend. However, Monster-Mania has steadily grown in popularity, making the host hotels very crowded, which hinders the con experience. The Oaks show provides a lot more space, including large aisles, more elbow room while perusing vendor tables, and guest lines that aren’t tightly packed in small ballrooms or meeting rooms. Another benefit to this con is the adequate amount of parking at the convention center.

The next Monster-Mania Con will be on March 14-16, 2025 in Cherry Hill, then the next show is on May 9-11 at their new location in Baltimore, Maryland. Show details will be available on the Monster-Mania website.
