Creature Feature Weekend returned on March 28-30, 2025, welcoming horror fans, cosplayers, actors, and other celebrity guests for a scary good time. Once again, the con was held at the Wyndham Gettysburg, located at 95 Presidential Circle in Gettysburg, PA.

Celebrity guests who attended the con were Tommy Chong (Up in Smoke), Ottaviano Dell’acqua (Zombie), Robert Kurtzman (make-up artist, director), Andrew Divoff (Wishmaster), Tim Cappello (The Lost Boys), John Dilworth (Courage The Cowardly Dog), Craig Sheffer and Anne Bobby (Night Breed), Kassie Depaiva, Richard Domeier, and Sarah Berry (Evil Dead 2), William Ragsdale, Amanda Bearse, and Stephen Geoffreys (Fright Night), Charles Band (Fool Moon Features), Robert Brian Wilson (Silent Night Deadly Night), Scott MacDonald (Jack Frost), Nick Kellington (Beetlejuice Beetlejuice), Finn Carter (Tremors), Jim Krut (Dawn of the Dead), and Stephen Blickenstaff (artist). (Don’t miss interviews with Andrew Divoff and Robert Brian Wilson in this issue of Scoop. Interviews with Craig Sheffer, Robert Kurtzman, and William Ragsdale will appear in next week’s issue of Scoop.)

Creature Feature hosted in-costume photos with Chong from Up in Smoke, Dell’acqua as the zombie, Sheffer as Aaron Boone, Geoffreys as Evil Ed, Wilson as Santa Claus, and Krut as the helicopter zombie.

Cappello performed in concert and Band hosted “An Evening with Charles Band” to answer fan questions and show a film from his extensive library. Several guests also participated in Q&A panels with attendees and provided live commentary for screenings of their films.

This year, Creature Feature Weekend introduced the new activity, Wine & Paint Night. Instructors Jason Seaux and Jeremy Ruby showed attendees how to create their own blacklight reactive Beetlejuice sandworm on canvas while enjoying glasses of wine.

The vendors sold a wide range of horror-themed collectibles. Some had action figures, from mass produced favorites to custom versions, statues, realistic character head busts, and detailed shadow box pieces. There were plenty of horror t-shirts, hats, purses, and other apparel. DVDs, Blu-rays, and vintage VHS tapes were available, as were new books and well known novels, magazines, and comic books. Artists sold prints, paintings, tumblers featuring characters and etched glass goblets, hand-made masks, and wooden signs.

Creature Feature was sponsored by Scares that Care, Hake’s Auctions, and Gemstone Publishing. Scares that Care hosted a charity auction featuring autographs from previous guests and other horror favorites. Hake’s discussed consigning in their upcoming premier auction and Gemstone sold The Overstreet Guide to Collecting Horror.

Convention promotors Craig and Sandy Yastrzemski put on a great show every year. They bring in different guests each year, some of whom rarely appear at other shows, and range from iconic hits of the 1970s to popular modern offerings. They don’t limit their guest list to actors by inviting directors, special effects make-up artists, and musicians. The show also sets itself apart by hosting fun experiences, from concerts to make-up demos to trick ‘r treating for the kids. They’ve had tattoo rooms, movies with live commentary, and car shows featuring tricked out hearses. They showed fan and short films, and had a VIP party on Friday.

What also makes Creature Feature such a fun show is the welcoming, community vibe. People come to the show not just to get autographs or shop with vendors, but also to hang out with friends. Even the celebrity guests note the positive atmosphere and chat with attendees while waiting for lunch at the food trucks.

In addition to the annual horror con, Creature Feature also hosts events at local drive-ins. Details about their events are available at creaturefeatureweekend.com.
