Two new shocking 12-page tales are on the way in Tales of Syzpense. The split book revival at Image will be published in June 2023.

The first story “Les Mort 13” by Lore co-creators T.P. Louise and Ashley Wood takes place on the surreal island of Southport following an encounter with Eris, the goddess of strife. Then in “Dreamweaver,” Chris Ryall and Nelson Daniel tell the story of an aging adventurer with a mystical secret who decides to pass it on. He gets jealous when the new hero is more successful, and decides that he’ll do anything to regain those abilities.

Each issue will have two “Les Mort 13” covers by Wood, a “Dreamweaver” cover by Daniel, and a “Syzpenseful” tribute cover to split books.

“Tales of Syzpense features two characters who Ash and I have long been developing in parallel ways without discussing them with each other – in fact, both lead characters coincidentally use swagger sticks and wear cloaks – so it made sense to present their initial adventures in the split-book format we love,” Ryall said. “And Tales of Syzpense gives us a nice outlet to tell both these stories, as well as carve out space for other creators to feature their own characters here as well.”

Tales of Syzpense #1 will be in comic shops on June 21, 2023. It is solicited in Diamond Comic Distributors’ April 2023 issue of PREVIEWS.
