Usher Down, the latest volume in John Carpenter’s Night Terrors series, will venture into a fabled haunted house. The Storm King Comics title will debut during San Diego Comic-Con. It is the first 2023 release from the Night Terrors imprint and coincides with Storm King Comics’ tenth anniversary.

In the comic, a young psychic joins a government expedition that will explore the haunted House of Usher. Though the house has been abandoned, something demonic lives there and may have reached out to them for its own purposes. Usher Down is written by Jason Henderson (Alex Van Helsing) with art by Greg Scott (Gotham Central), colors by Felipe Sobreiro, and letters by Ed Dukeshire.

“Here’s the thing. Usher Down isn’t a haunted house story – it’s a haunted house expedition story like the ones Greg Scott and I are obsessed with like The Haunting, Rose Red, and The Legend of Hell House,” Henderson said. “When you have a house that everyone holds in awe and you put together an expedition and anything can happen. That’s the stuff, that’s what we wanted to make and Storm King made that vision a reality.”

Usher Down will arrive in comic shops on July 12, 2023.
