The Falcon and the Winter Soldier star Erin Kellyman will venture into a post-apocalyptic world in 28 Years Later. She joins previously announced stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer, Ralph Fiennes, and Jack O’Connell. Franchise star Cillian Murphy is expected to appear in the film, though it is unknown if he’ll have a starring role.

The movie is the third entry in the zombie series, which began in 2002’s 28 Days Later, followed by 2007’s 28 Weeks Later. The story centered around a bicycle messenger who wakes up from a coma to learn that the world is now overrun by zombies, then follows his attempts to survive the undead and the humans who have become monsters in the aftermath of the new world order.

The new movie is the first film in a planned trilogy, set for theatrical release on June 20, 2025. Kellyman’s character details were not announced, and plot details are still under wraps.

Before joining the zombie apocalypse, Kellyman appeared in two very well known franchises. She played Enfys Nest in Solo: A Star Wars Story and Flag Smashers leader Karli Morgenthau in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. She has also starred in the Life miniseries, Willow TV series, the movie Woken, and she is set to star in Blitz.

28 Days Later director Danny Boyle will helm the new movie, which was written by Alex Garland (Dredd). The pair will produce the movie with original film producers Andrew Macdonald, Bernie Bellew, and Peter Rice, and Murphy will be an executive producer.
