Universal Pictures has secured the rights to A Vicious Circle, the graphic novel about a time-traveling feud, from artist Lee Bermejo and writer Mattson Tomlin with Proximity Media and BOOM! Studios producing.
In A Vicious Circle, Shawn Thacker is an assassin who is sent through time in different pasts and futures when he kills someone. His strange affliction is shared by one other person, and Shawn wants revenge against him. Locked in a never-ending battle, the mortal enemies travel from 22nd century Tokyo to 1950s New Orleans to the Cretaceous period.
Tomlin is adapting the screenplay. The Proximity Media team will include executive producer Rebecca Cho with Zetra Evans, and producers Ryan and Zinzi Coogler, and Sev Ohanian. BOOM! Studios’ team includes Adam Yoelin as executive producer, Stephen Christy as producer, Mette Norkjaer as co-producer, and Senior Vice President of Production Development Ryan Jones will oversee the project.
