Shadowman is returning in Shadowman: Soul Eaters to play an important role in the Resurgence event by fighting the forces that could break reality. The four-issue miniseries by A.J. Ampadu (Ninjak vs. Roku) and artist Sergio Monjes (Black, White & Bloodshot) will be in stores in October 2024.

“We drew from a lot of Shadowman lore, both old and new. We wanted the story to be accessible to new readers while also rewarding those who have been fans of Shadowman since day one. It’s a mix of emotion and horror with a cast featuring some of Shadowman’s most interesting characters,” Ampadu said.

In his first Alien Books series, Jack Boniface/Shadowman and his allies like Dr. Mirage are attacked by the new villain, Magpie. The creature’s appearance makes it clear that Master Darque, one of the most dangerous Valiant villains, is back and planning something terrible.

“Jack Boniface has had to confront various horrors, both internal and external, during his journey as Shadowman,” Ampadu said. “Now, he must confront Master Darque’s most powerful soldier, the Magpie, in a showdown that will test the strength of Jack’s bonds and the limits of his powers.”

Shadowman: Soul Eaters #1 features a main cover by Agustin Alessio with variant covers by Diego Greco, Guillermo Fajardo, and Alessio. It arrives in comic shops on October 2.
