Brian Azzarello, the writer known for 100 Bullets, Joker, and other crime books and mature comics, is penning a series about revenge, metal music, magic, and Norse mythology. The Creeping Below features art by Vanesa Del Rey (The Empty Man), colors by Hilary Jenkins (Black Badge), and letters by AndWorld Design (Something is Killing the Children). BOOM! Studios is providing a preview of the first issue, which is out in October 2024.

“When Val, an American metalhead attending a music festival abroad in Oslo, is victimized and killed at the hands of a charismatically evil local black metal band, the Old Gods of Norse Mythology raise her up and guide along the path of brutal vengeance in the name of women everywhere. But will she walk the warriors path, or become something far more terrible?” per the description.

The Creeping Below #1 features a main cover by Del Rey and variant covers by Maria Llovet, Mike Deodato Jr., and Jae Lee and June Chung. It will arrive in comic shops on October 2.
