Stray Dogs is a psychological horror series told from the point of view of a group of dogs. Described as “Lady and the Tramp meets Silence of the Lambs,” the popular comic is written by Tony Fleecs with art by Trish Forstner. Now, fans of the series can get limited edition plush toys of Sophie, Rusty, and Victor through BackerKit.
Introduced in 2021, Stray Dogs follows Sophie, a dog who doesn’t remember what happened to her, how she ended up in this house, and she doesn’t recognize the other dogs. She knows that something terrible has happened and she wants to figure it out and learn how she’ll survive the strange situation.
Forstner and Fleecs are overseeing the designs of the plushies and have been hands-on throughout the project. The three limited edition plush figures of Sophie (a yellow Papillon), Rusty (a brown Shepherd mix), and Victor (a three-legged Dalmatian) are between 6” and 9” tall. There will also be versions offered with an exclusive trading card.
“Trish and the team at Dynamite have worked tirelessly to make these cute little guys as heartbreakingly adorable in plush as they were in the original comics,” Fleecs said. “Fans of Stray Dogs will not be disappointed!”
“I have been excited for the idea of making plush toys of these amazing characters for a long time,” Forstner added. “I’m so excited to finally be able to show these first few off and hope through the campaign’s success, that we’ll be able to make more. I’ve meticulously included a lot of wonderful details so that these characters look and translate well into their little plush forms.”
The BackerKit campaign hosted by Dynamite Entertainment has a goal of $20,000. The campaign ends on November 26, 2024.
