The competitive, high stakes world of fencing is ready for a new duel. BOOM! Studios has provided a first look at Fence Challengers: Sweet Sixteen #1, the double-sized one-shot by writer C.S. Pacat, artist Johanna the Mad, and colorist Joana LaFuente.

“The Kings Row fencing team has made it all the way to the final 16 in the tournament! But now they must face the best of the best,” per the synopsis. “It’s Seiji against Marcus, the fencer who made him fall in love with the sport to begin with; and Nicholas versus Kyle Allen, under the watchful eye of none other than Nicholas’s estranged father!”

Fence Challengers: Sweet Sixteen #1 has a main cover by Johanna the Mad and variant covers by Kody Okamoto. It will be in comic shops on January 1, 2025.
