The Final Destination horror franchise is known for creating unique and strange deaths for its characters. In the first trailer for the sixth film, Final Destination: Bloodlines, viewers get a taste of the scary things that could happen in a tattoo and piercing parlor.
The teaser trailer begins with the cringy up close view of a woman getting her tongue pierced. Once she leaves, the employee (Richard Harmon) starts locking up for the night and the audience sees all the dangers around him. Not just the plethora of needles, but also the chains hanging from the ceiling and the large bottle of flammable disinfectant. That’s when things go from concerning to downright uncomfortable as death comes for the man.
The Final Destination franchise began in 2000, introducing the concept of death having a specific design. Each movie starts with a character having a premonition about a catastrophic accident – a plane explodes, a multi-car crash – then the survivors who narrowly avoided the incident begin to die in bizarre, and sometimes gruesome, ways. There have been connections between characters in different movies, which means the new film could connect back to one of the earlier sequels.
Final Destination: Bloodlines is directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, and is written by Guy Busick and Lori Evans Taylor. It will posthumously star the late Tony Todd as Will Bludworth, the coroner who appeared in the previous films. The movie will also star Brec Bassinger, Rya Kihlstedt, Max Lloyd-Jones, Anna Lore, Teo Briones, Tinpo Lee, Kaitlyn Santa Juana, and Owen Patrick Joyner.
The movie will arrive in theaters on May 16, 2025.
