Enzo Sciotti was a prolific movie poster artist who specialized in creating art for Italian horror movies. His work was featured on the posters for horror flicks like The Beyond, The House by the Cemetery, Demons, and The Blood of Heroes, among more than 3,000 others.
He was born into a family of painters on September 24, 1944 in Rome, Italy. In the 1960s his mother helped him get a job creating movie posters when he was only 16 years old. Not long after that, Sciotti and fellow poster artist Ezio Tarantelli started a film poster studio.
Sciotti produced movie posters for most Italian film genres, but was best known for his work in horror. He often created posters for director Lucio Fulci, nicknamed the Godfather of Gore.
He was also known for doing the Italian version of posters for American movies, including Beetlejuice and Army of Darkness. His art was also seen on VHS covers and Italian comic book covers, including for the title Terror.
Sciotti died a few years ago on April 11, 2021.
