Duke, one of the biggest heroes among the G.I. Joes, is starring in a new one-shot. G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero – Duke #1 was written and drawn by Wes Craig (Deadly Class), with colors by Jason Wordie (The Energon Universe miniseries Duke). Skybound and Image, who collaborated with Hasbro, have revealed the first look at the book.
The one-shot follows the format of the “Silent Interlude,” an action-heavy story with no dialogue, that was introduced in G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #21. The new G.I. Joe Silent Missions book follows Duke as he searches for a traitor through an area filled with Cobra agents.
“When the Silent Missions were conceived, Wes Craig was my first call,” Skybound Editorial Director Alex Antone said. “Not only is he one of the very best storytellers in comics, it turns out he’s a massive G.I. Joe fan! His Duke issue is a love letter to G.I. Joe, and a fitting finale to this exciting event.”
The main cover is by Craig and Wordie, variants include art by Jorge Fornés (Rorschach), a 1:10 incentive black and white version of Craig’s cover, and a 1:25 incentive foil letter version of Fornés cover.
G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero – Duke #1 reaches comic shops on April 30, 2025.
