The Owl has struck back at the Libris crime family, kidnapping the family head’s granddaughter, Bella. But since Matt Murdock was involved with Bella’s mother, this has become a personal matter for him to deal with. After rescuing her, though, things in the Kitchen start to boil over, with the war between the Owl and the Libris family coming to a head. And the Stromwyn siblings, who have orchestrated much of the strife in the neighborhood to begin with, do nothing more but pour more gas on the fire.

Daredevil has been a wildly fun book to read throughout this run and this now-lengthy arc in particular, “Through Hell,” has been a highlight of that. This series has very much been a slow burn, but it’s so compelling in spite of an occasional lack of action that you’ll keep turning the pages and wanting more. I’m not even the biggest fan of Daredevil as a character but I look forward to the new issues arriving each month, and you should keep it on your list as well.
