Writer Mark Gruenwald and artist Paul Ryan formed the single most consistent creative team in the short (but compelling) history of Marvel’s New Universe. They were together for the entire run of D.P. 7, and that provided a stability that most of the other series didn’t come close to enjoying.

D.P. 7 Classic – Volume 1 collects D.P. 7 #1-9 and showcases the gathering of seven Displaced Paranormals – people who had been normal and distinctly not prototypical superheroes before something happened to them.

While the series – and the whole New Universe – may have been overlooked at the time, the issues in this trade paperback have weathered the test of time very well and deserve another look.
