The Midnight Hour; Kickstarter

Having been turned into a fan of writer Will Allred by his work some years back on Diary of Night, it was easy to commit to backing his Crossover Division #1 on Kickstarter. Having then read and enjoyed that one, it was even easier to get in line to back Crossover Division #2.

The premise is pretty straightforward and leads immediately to lots of “What if…?” possibilities in one’s imagination: “When stories come to life and threaten to fracture reality beyond repair, only an English professor and a research librarian have the knowledge and smarts to save us all.”

This time around, the characters are confronted by “The Brides of Dracula” from Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

It builds very nicely on the first issue, though it’s actually pretty accessible to new readers as well. The solid story is aided by the Pablo Martinena artwork, strong production values, and good printing, and that’ll make backing the third installment even more appealing.

Speaking of which, Crossover Division #3 (with the ability to get the first two issues as well) sees a Shakespearean drama taking over a midwestern town. It just launched on Kickstarter this week. Check it out!
