The Mech Cadets from Sky Corps Academy are tasked with protecting the Earth against the threat of alien invasion by the Sharg. It seems like a straightforward mission, however the four young pilots who control the mechs have disobeyed orders to do what they think is right. Now out in space on a mission, they make an important discovery that could have a major affect on their chances of returning home and on Earth’s future.

The first issue of Mech Cadets did a great job of introducing both the young cadets and their commanding officers. Now in issue two, writer Greg Pak adds layers to the story with a bigger threat and the hardships (and craziness) of sending young adults to war. It has the exciting giant fights of a Kaiju movie with a good story about the gray areas and harsh realities of war.
