Writer-Editor Jon B. Cooke has – as he usually does – assembled an incredible history of a comic publisher, albeit one without a whole lot of incredible history. Charlton, of course, did have its moments, and just about all of them are in this excellent book. While most of the excitement comes from the Dick Giordano era in the 1960s, which included Steve Ditko, this book covers the full history of the company from the Golden Age right up to (and beyond, really) it’s end.

From being the springboard to Watchmen to the incredible talents that emerged from the company, this book does the good work of documenting Charlton’s history. Bravo!
