A girl has gone missing and the Pine & Merrimac detective agency is on the case. It didn’t take long for detectives Linnea and Parker Kent to find who took the girl, but the “why” is another story. They learned that she was taken to a supposedly uninhabited island off the coast of their sleepy town. But, when Linnea and Parker venture onto the island they find some answers and even more questions.

Two issues into Pine & Merrimac, and I’m hooked. Parker and Linnea have a great relationship with loads of affection and trust, providing a great anchor for the book. At this point, the case they’re investigating seems fairly straightforward, but writer Kyle Starks’ storytelling skills keep it very entertaining. Plus, it has the potential for curveballs.
