From his earliest comic book appearance in Conan, there have been many comic book incarnations of this weird warrior. Most of them – from Pacific Comics, Marvel Comics, and First Comics – have adapted the existing novels into illustrated form. In this one, though, Moorcock gives the reader both an original graphic novel and an insightful set-up for what is to follow.

It’s a bit harder to find now, but either this trade paperback or the individual issues it collects are worth the hunt. Definitely a must for fans of the eternal champion.
