In the penultimate issue of Blow Away, Brynne Brautigan’s investigation into the murder she witnessed takes a fairly drastic turn for the worse. After a disastrous fall, Brynne finds herself in a literal life or death situation – with more than one dangerous threat. Even the peril of her situation doesn’t stop Brynne from doggedly trying to solve the puzzle.

Artist Nicola Izzo takes the cold to a new level in this issue. The storm, the snow, and the ice become characters alongside Brynne and the few humans in this story of isolation. With Brynne temporarily out of commission, writer Zac Thompson provides important details about her backstory that help to explain her determination. That trait will be necessary if she is going to solve this mystery in issue five.
