In the future fertility levels are at a low, giving rise to a black market for cloned babies. Would-be parents provide their genetic material to create the babies, but there’s a terrible side effect. Three out of four clones turn into psychotic murderers known as “dupes.” To combat the threat, the United Nations of Europe has assembled the Duplicate Identification and Capture Division (nicknamed the Skin Police) to find the dupes and stop the violence.

The story begins in the year 2176 when seasoned Agent Brisson Eckis is tasked with training Junior Agent Sheen Corfer. As he shows her the procedure for investigating and interrogating people about being dupes, many unsavory points come up. Like what the government does with the bodies of dupes after they are killed or if anything can be done to help them. In the first issue, writer Jordan Thomas has brought up several points about those in power and fearmongering.

Considering the main cover for the first issue, I expected this to be a gory book, but artist Daniel Gete and colorist Jason Wordie illustrate the situation without being excessive. It’s a good start for the new title.
