A strand of pearls illustrates the ups and downs of a marriage in the second story. The issue wraps with a social media influencer recklessly pursuing her dreams.

The fourth issue of Epitaphs from the Abyss presents two stories with timely content and one with a tragically long history. Each tale has its scary merits from the outlandish to the realistic, one of which has a darkly funny twist ending. None of the stories touch on political or polarizing social issues – which is good because earlier issues were a bit heavy handed in that department. This one is more about the darkness within people, whether they are aware of it or not.
