Archie Andrews was just an average kid until something strange happened, giving him superpowers and a supersense for injustices. He becomes Mr. Justice, the hero of Riverdale who stops criminals and protects the innocent. But his rise as a superhero doesn’t come without complications and Mr. Justice will soon learn how challenging the life of a superhero can be.

The first issue of Archie is Mr. Justice is a cautionary tale. Tim Seeley wrote about the heroic fantasy side of saving people and the difficult side of needing to protect loved ones and knowing what wrongs can be righted. The art by Mike Norton and colors by Glenn Whitmore give it the Archie flare with bright colors and they create the superhero tone through the panel angles and action.

It’s a more serious superhero story than one might expect from an Archie book, but it is well done.
