Ghost Machine/Image Comics; $3.99

Since the debut of Geoff Johns’ Ghost Machine line of comics, Geiger has month in and month out been the best superhero (or maybe superhero-esque?) comic book on the market. Solid storytelling infused with pain, suffering, success, desperation, heroism, danger, despotism, mystery, and nobility.

If you haven’t been reading Gieger, get the beautiful hardcover edition or the soft cover collection of the pre-Ghost Machine issues (the first trade paperback of this current volume is just around the corner) and dig in.

Johns, artist Gary Frank, and colorist Brad Anderson are, figuratively speaking, on fire, and you shouldn’t miss this series. And at $3.99 compared to the $4.99 or more many other series are charging for cover price these days, it’s a storytelling bargain.
