Archie; $4.99
When Archie Andrews developed superhuman abilities, he became the superhero, Mr. Justice. Betty Cooper is one of the people who knows his identity and she has worked side by side with Mr. Justice for months. To learn more about the superhero and his mission, Harper has asked Betty for an interview about her association with Mr. Justice.
Each issue of Archie is Mr. Justice is told from a different perspective, this time turning to Riverdale’s favorite girl next door. In the story by Kenny Porter, she reveals how she “met” Mr. Justice and was inspired to help him protect their city. But, this isn’t exactly easy when his battles with evil cause major property damage or Betty is put in harm’s way too many times.
All three issues have been written by different creators, and they have done a great job of developing a seamless narrative. Telling the story from different perspectives adds layers to the traditional superhero story while bringing up questions about superbeings that have become a regular aspect of superhero comics. The art by Maria Sanapo and colors by Glenn Whitmore are also great, combining the bright colors of Archie with the action and drama of a superhero story.
