When the girls got out on patrol they find Mojo Jojo, only this time, he isn’t up to no good. Instead, Mojo has started a battle of the bands contest. The Powerpuff Girls immediately decide that they should rock out in the contest, but there’s one problem – they can’t agree on what style of music to play. That’s when the girls seek other musical partners and find them in some rather unlikely places.

The concept for this issue of The Powerpuff Girls was already set up to be funny, then once the girls team up with other people, it gets really entertaining. It has music cliches, band drama, and nods to musicians that cover the gamut from pop to metal. This a cute and clever issue by Amanda Deibert, and artist Silvia De Ventura and colorist Giulia Lafranceschina created nice performance shots of each band.
