In this video game themed one-shot, Archie, Betty, Veronica, and Jughead enjoy a game of Crafty Miners. Archie and Reggie compete over the affections of the new girl, then Betty and Veronica work together to design video games that will appeal to girls like them. The hijinks continue when some of the kids get jobs in the video game industry.

Archie and Friends Level Up is packed with six stories all themed around video gaming. The Riverdale kids become addicted to games, deconstruct gaming stereotypes, and get annoyed at each other when they are ignored while their crushes play games. The one-shot pays homage to a few games, pokes fun at some of the gaming industry’s flaws, and there are plenty of jokes about teenagers and their love of gaming.
