The August ComicConnect.com Event Auction includes the debut of the Atlantic City Collection, which could very well be the “last great Golden Age collection” to be discovered and brought to market, the company said. Among the 33 “AC” offerings of some of the most “mind-blowingly” high and highest graded copies in existence, including Action Comics #10 CGC 9.0, Action Comics #13 CGC 9.2, Action Comics #19 CGC 9.4, Action Comics #20 CGC 9.0, Action Comics #31 CGC 9.4, Amazing Mystery Funnies V.2 #7 CGC 9.2, Captain America Comics #1 CGC 9.2, Detective Comics #25 CGC 9.0, Detective Comics #33 CGC 9.2, Detective Comics #36 CGC 8.5, Flash Comics #1 CGC 9.0, Jumbo Comics #10 CGC 8.0, Marvel Mystery #12 CGC 9.2, Superman #3 CGC 9.0, and Whiz Comics #4 CGC 9.0.

The auction also offers Action Comics #1 CGC 4.5.

Also offered are an assortment of high-grade Silver Age Marvels featuring titles such as Tales of Suspense, Tales to Astonish and Strange Tales from the collection of George Papadimatos, including such highest graded examples as Strange Tales #150 CGC 9.8, Strange Tales #165 CGC 9.8, Tales of Suspense #59 CGC 9.8, Tales of Suspense #86 CGC 9.8, Tales to Astonish #90 CGC 9.8, and Tales to Astonish #91 CGC 9.8.

Additionally, the company has ramped up the certification process with Suscha News Pedigree submissions to CGC over the past couple of months and have been rewarded with nearly 200 highest graded copies available in their August Event Auction.

“Nearly every copy of these comics is coming back with stark white pages, and collectors are brimming over with anticipation of the opportunity to bid on a book that will lend itself to instant bragging rights,” Rob Reynolds, Director of Consignments said.

Highest graded, white page examples include Amazing Spider-Man #116 CGC 9.8, Incredible Hulk #161 CGC 9.8, Iron Man #23 CGC 9.8, Marvel Two-in-One #1 CGC 9.8, Silver Surfer #18 CGC 9.8, Thor #198 CGC 9.8, Tomb of Dracula #1 CGC 9.8, Uncle Scrooge #100 CGC 9.8, and Werewolf by Night #9 CGC 9.8.

There are nearly 200 Suscha News Pedigree issues in the August Event Auction as well, including almost 100 highest graded examples and a great copy of Amazing Spider-Man #25 CGC 9.6.

Included in the auction is one of the earliest pieces of Will Eisner comic art still in existence, Smash Comics #5 page 2, Golden Age Joe Kubert Hawkman in Flash Comics #72 page 5, a Bob Kane Batman #1 cover recreation, a Bernie Wrightson Swamp Thing #8 page, two massive Ken Kelly oil paintings (Essential Conan and Snowtrap), Phil Jimenez’s double-page splash to Infinite Crisis #7, an original Charles Vess painting, cover art to Human Torch #8 (’74 series), Tomb of Dracula #30, Superman #325, and much, much more.
