Pedigree Comics has reported strong sales from their November Grand Auction, which closed the night of Monday, November 14, 2011. The offering included 409 CGC certified comic books, of which the company said over 90% sold for a total of just under $700,000 ($699,311). With post-auction deals pending that total is expected to exceed $750,000.

“The auction was a great success and as usual, Marvels led the way with many record sales, particularly Silver Age Marvels in 9.6 and higher,” Pedigree Comics President and CEO Doug Schmell said. “The highlight of the auction was the incredible group of early 1960s Marvels, a remarkable selection of ultra high grade books from Marvel’s flagship titles. These books did incredibly well and were representative of Marvel’s most popular superheroes (and the company’s first four created in the “Marvel Age of Comics”): Amazing Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, Incredible Hulk and Thor (in Journey Into Mystery). Other highlights included an unbelievable consignment of Golden Age DCs, Timelys and other publishers, including many highest CGC certified Edgar Church (Mile High) pedigreed books. Other ultra high grade Silver Age Marvels and DCs saw strong results as well, including a group of 9.4 to 9.6 books from the recently discovered Philadelphia Story Collection.”
