The original owner of the Phantom Lady Collection was fully aware of the significance of Baker’s historical importance to the comic book field, being one of the very few black artists to work in the industry, and who created some of the most memorable images of the era. The collector, according to his daughter, loved his Phantom Lady comics almost as much as his children.
