Since Star Wars: A New Hope was released in 1977, Anthony Daniels has been the man who brought C-3PO to life. He’s currently working on a new project, only this time, he won’t be encased in the metallic suit.

Daniels teased an upcoming appearance as C-3PO on social media by posting a photo of himself in a motion capture suit. He captioned it, “Finally, a new suit – that fits!” followed by several hashtags referencing the character, Star Wars, and Ealing Studios in West London. Daniels has famously discussed the challenges of the C-3PO costume at appearances, in interviews, and in his autobiography, I Am C-3PO.

He didn’t specify what Star Wars project he’s working on, which could be the Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga video game. Another obvious option could be the animated film Star Wars: A Droids Story in which Threepio and R2-D2 act as guides for a new character. It was also recently announced that there are three new Star Wars video games in the works.

Daniels holds a unique distinction in the world of Star Wars. Threepio and Artoo are the only characters who have appeared in all nine main series Star Wars films. To his credit, Daniels wore the suit in each movie, minus The Phantom Menace, for which he voiced the then-unfinished protocol droid. He also appeared as Threepio in Rogue One and had an out of the suit cameo in Solo, making him the only actor to appear in all 11 Star Wars live-action films. He also voiced the beloved character in The Star Wars Holiday Special, the Star Wars: Droids cartoon, The Clone Wars film and series, as well as Rebels and Resistance, among others.
