eMoviePoster’s December Major Auction is ending on December 19, 2023, featuring 1,296 items of every kind. This is their best auction of the year, according to eMoviePoster.

Linen-backed one-sheets are Birth of a Nation, Violent is the Word for Curly, Jezebel, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and Ravished Armenia.

One-sheets include Empire Strikes Back, Attack of the 50 Ft. Woman, Rear Window, Star Wars style A first printing and style C printer’s test, and Return of the Jedi dated teaser.

The international examples include a French King Kong linen-backed one-panel; British quads of Godzilla, Creature from the Black Lagoon 1950s rerelease, and Man in the White Suit linen-backed; Italian Big Sleep one-panel and Breakfast at Tiffany’s linen-backed one-panel; and a Japanese Hidden Fortress poster.

The larger size offerings are linen-backed seven-sheets of Star Wars and Jaws; six-sheets of Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Fistful of Dollars, and Star Wars; and linen-backed three-sheets of Where Danger Lives style B, Randy Rides Alone, and Ocean’s 11, and an unbacked Return of the Jedi.

Medium to smaller items include inserts of Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein, Gone with the Wind, Jaws, and Sunset Boulevard; and half-sheets of After the Thin Man and White Christmas. Additional highlights are a Blackmail title card, Murders in the Rue Morgue window card, Werewolf of London pressbook, and a Bullitt linen-backed special poster.

The highlight of the December Major Auction is The Gold Rush one-sheet, which is one of only two known examples. eMoviePoster auctioned this example back in 1993, selling it for $70,700. Now the owner is selling it 30 years later, once again through eMoviePoster. More on this poster is covered in this week’s issue of Scoop.
