The exhibit Cloaked Crusader: George Washington in Comics and Pop Culture opens on October 5, 2022. It is hosted at the Fraunces Tavern Museum, which is located at 54 Pearl Street, 2nd Floor, New York, NY.

The exhibit explores the times that George Washington has appeared in comics and pop culture. It features sequential art depicting historical events as well as stories of Washington playing key roles in modern times alongside the likes of Superman, Captain America, and other comic heroes. It showcases original art and rare comics by top industry artists like Michael Golden, Arthur Suydam, Neal Adams, George Pérez, George Evans, Fred Fredericks, Curt Swan, Daniel Scott Jr, Graham Nolan, and others.

The gallery show is based on the book Cloaked Crusader: George Washington in Comics and Pop Culture by author Renee Witterstaetter and will run through 2023. An expanded look at the exhibit was previously featured in our Industry News section of Scoop.

Admission to the museum is $7 for adults, $4 for seniors, students with valid ID, and children ages 6-17, and free for children under 5 and active/veteran military with ID.
